Gentlemen,

With your letter of the 7th Bay, 1920, you

forwarded to us a letter dated Sed May, 1980, from the

19827/20 Colonial Office, enclosing a despatch from His Excellency

the Governor of Hong Kong, dated 5th March, 1920, request-

ing that a member of our firm should visit Hong Kong to

advise on the steps which should be taken for the impZOV@=

ment of the Harbour.

2. In the despatch referred to, His (moellency draw

attention to the importance of Kowloon as a railway termin-

us in the near future owing to the prospect of linking up the Kowloon-Canton and the Canton-Hankow Railways and the consequent establishment of through communication with the

North of China. Under much circumstances he considered

3. His Moellency also referred to the probability
